Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These terms set out who operates BasicSinging, what the service does, the rights you must hold in the audio you upload, what the service must never be used for, how the subscription plans are billed, and the French law that governs all of it.
1. Legal notice and who you are contracting with
BasicSinging is published and operated by Signal Harbor, a French société par actions simplifiée unipersonnelle (SASU) with share capital of €1, registered with the Registre national des entreprises under SIREN 130 183 650 (SIRET 130 183 650 00014), APE code 6201Z, whose registered office is at 62 Rue Gabriel Péri, 93430 Villetaneuse, France.
- Director of publication: Maksims Kuznecovs, President of Signal Harbor.
- Contact: contact@basicsinging.com
- Website host: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States.
Where these terms say "we", it means Signal Harbor; "you" means the person who paid for the plan.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's own buyer terms are shown in the checkout and apply to the payment alongside these terms; the charge appears on your statement as PADDLE.NET* followed by our name.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By creating a BasicSinging account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms are available on this page at all times and can be saved or printed from your browser.
3. What the service does
BasicSinging processes audio that you supply. It removes room echo and background noise, corrects pitch to a key you choose, aligns timing across takes, generates harmony and doubling layers, applies a vocal processing chain and mixes your vocal against a backing track you upload. Everything runs in your browser.
BasicSinging does not licence or clear any musical composition or sound recording, does not obtain permissions on your behalf, and does not distribute, publish or release anything. It gives you a file. What you do with that file, and whether you have the right to do it, is entirely your responsibility.
We make no guarantee about how any output will perform commercially, or how any platform or service will treat it.
4. Eligibility and access
You must be at least 16 years old to buy a plan. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's agreement before subscribing, and they should be aware that the subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
There is no registration and no password. Paying opens the processor in the browser used at checkout, and a cookie in that browser records the access for as long as the plan runs. You agree to give an accurate email address at checkout and to keep it reachable, because it is the only address we have for receipts, renewal notices and anything we need to tell you. Protecting that browser is your responsibility: anyone who can use it can use the plan. If the cookie is lost — cleared, or because you have moved to another browser or device — write to contact@basicsinging.com from the email address on your receipt and we will restore it.
5. Plans, billing and renewal
BasicSinging is sold as a subscription in three plans:
- Day Pass — $2, billed every 24 hours. The subscription renews every 24 hours until you cancel.
- Singer — $19, billed every 28 days. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each 28-day period until you cancel.
- Studio — $170, billed every 28 days. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each 28-day period until you cancel.
A 28-day cycle is not a calendar month. A 28-day plan renews every four weeks, which is 13 times in a year rather than 12. Please take that into account when you budget for the service.
Your first charge is taken when you subscribe, and each renewal is taken automatically on the same payment method. Track allowances reset at the start of each period and unused allowance does not roll over.
Cancellation, refunds and your statutory right of withdrawal are described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
6. Who you pay, VAT and invoices
Payments for BasicSinging are processed by Paddle, which acts as our authorised reseller and merchant of record. Paddle.com Market Ltd is therefore the seller of record for your order, issues the invoice or receipt, collects and remits VAT or sales tax according to your location, and handles billing enquiries and refund processing on our behalf. Paddle's own terms and privacy notice apply to that part of the transaction in addition to these terms.
Prices shown on the site are in USD and exclude VAT. Any VAT or equivalent tax is calculated and added at checkout according to your country and tax status, and the total payable is shown before you confirm.
Nothing in this section changes who provides the service: Signal Harbor remains your counterparty for the service itself, and these terms govern it.
7. Price changes
Prices can change. If the price of your plan changes, we will email you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the new price applies from your next renewal after that notice period. If you do not want to continue at the new price, cancel before that renewal.
8. Failed payments and suspension
If a renewal payment fails, it will be retried and you will be emailed. Processing new tracks may be paused while the payment is outstanding. Files already in the processor stay available during this period, subject to the 30-day deletion schedule. If payment is still outstanding after 14 days, the subscription may be cancelled.
9. Rights in the audio you upload
You warrant that you own, or are licensed to use, every recording, composition, backing track and instrumental you upload, and that uploading it to BasicSinging does not infringe anyone's rights.
Buying, streaming or downloading a commercial backing track does not give you the right to distribute a recording built on it. Processing a cover through BasicSinging does not clear the underlying composition, does not grant you a mechanical or synchronisation licence, and does not make the result yours to publish. Those permissions come from rights holders and collecting societies, and obtaining them is your responsibility.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Signal Harbor against any claim, demand, damages, penalty or reasonable legal cost arising from material you upload or from what you do with the output — including claims by a copyright owner, a performer, or a person whose voice appears in your upload.
10. Prohibited uses
The following are strictly prohibited. This section matters more than any other in these terms.
- Uploading another person's voice without that person's clear permission.
- Using the service to imitate, impersonate or synthesise the voice of any real person, living or dead.
- Producing audio intended to deceive listeners into believing that a real person said or sang something they did not.
- Uploading recordings obtained without the consent of the people recorded, including covertly captured audio.
- Uploading unlawful, harassing, defamatory or intimate material, or any recording of a person made or shared without their consent.
- Uploading sexual content involving minors, or any other material whose creation or possession is an offence — access is withdrawn immediately and reported to the competent authorities.
- Scraping, crawling, reverse engineering or attempting to extract the processing models, or reselling the processing as a competing service.
- Automated abuse, including generating volumes of output no human workflow could produce, or circumventing plan limits.
Breach of this section may result in access being withdrawn immediately without refund.
11. Copyright complaints
If you believe material processed through BasicSinging infringes your copyright or neighbouring rights, email contact@basicsinging.com with:
- your name, address and contact details;
- identification of the work you say has been infringed;
- identification of the material you are complaining about, with enough detail for us to locate it;
- the reasons why the content should be removed, including the legal provisions relied on;
- a statement that the information in the complaint is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
We will review the complaint promptly, remove or disable access to material where appropriate, and notify the person who paid so they can respond. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated. A complaint that is knowingly false may engage the sender's liability under French law.
12. Usage limits and fair use
Plans described as unlimited are meant for normal use by one person or one small team recording their own material. We may contact you, apply reasonable limits, or ask you to move to a larger plan if usage is far outside that pattern.
13. Your content and who owns it
You keep ownership of everything you upload and of the processed output. Signal Harbor claims no rights in your music beyond a limited, temporary licence to store, transmit and process your files in order to produce your own output and make it available to you. That licence exists only for that purpose and ends when the file is deleted.
We do not use your recordings to train voice models, and we do not publish, license or share them, as set out in the Privacy Policy.
14. Our intellectual property
The BasicSinging platform — its software, processing models, interface, name, logo and documentation — remains ours. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your subscription is active.
15. Output disclaimer
Processing is automated and imperfect. It can produce artefacts, mistuned notes, odd-sounding consonants, harmonies that do not suit the song, or a mix balance you disagree with. Results depend heavily on the quality of the original recording.
Listen to every output in full before you use or publish it. We do not warrant that any particular take can be improved to your satisfaction.
16. Availability and maintenance
We aim to keep BasicSinging available and reliable, but we do not offer an uptime guarantee. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, upgrades, or because of failures at a hosting or processing provider. Where maintenance is planned and likely to interrupt use, we will give notice in the interface or by email.
Download anything you want to keep. Files are deleted automatically 30 days after processing.
17. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under French law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud (dol), for gross negligence (faute lourde), or for a breach of an essential obligation of the contract.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid for BasicSinging in the 28 days before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect loss, including lost income, lost opportunities, wasted studio or session time, or loss of data beyond restoring available backups.
18. Consumer rights and legal guarantees
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects the rights French law gives you. In particular, digital content and digital services supplied under these terms carry the legal guarantee of conformity provided by Articles L. 224-25-12 and following of the French Consumer Code, under which we must deliver content that conforms to the contract and are answerable for any lack of conformity existing at the time of supply and appearing within the period the law sets.
You also keep the benefit of the guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 and following of the French Civil Code where it applies. These guarantees operate independently of any commercial gesture described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
19. Withdrawal and refunds
Consumers in France and the European Union have a 14-day right of withdrawal under Article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code. Because the service supplies digital content immediately, paying constitutes a request for immediate performance and an acknowledgement that you lose that right once processing begins, which is stated beside the plans and in the checkout before payment, as Article L. 221-28, 13° of that Code allows. The Refund & Cancellation Policy explains exactly how this works and what happens if you have not yet processed anything.
20. Consumer mediation
If you are a consumer and a complaint to us has not been resolved to your satisfaction within a reasonable time, you may refer the dispute free of charge to a consumer mediator, as Articles L. 611-1 and L. 612-1 of the French Consumer Code provide. Write to contact@basicsinging.com and we will give you the name and contact details of the mediation scheme covering this service, along with how to file your request.
21. Suspension and termination
You can cancel at any time from the subscription link in your Paddle receipt, or by emailing contact@basicsinging.com. We may suspend or withdraw access that breaches these terms, particularly section 10, or where required by law. Except where the breach is serious, we will normally give notice and a chance to put things right first.
22. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of the EU or EEA country where you habitually reside, and you may bring proceedings before the court of the place where you lived when the contract was concluded or where the harmful event occurred, as Article R. 631-3 of the French Consumer Code provides. For business customers, the competent French courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
23. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The "last updated" date at the top changes when they do. For material changes we will email everyone with a running plan at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means the updated terms apply.
24. Legal notices
Formal legal notices must be sent by email to contact@basicsinging.com and by post to Signal Harbor, 62 Rue Gabriel Péri, 93430 Villetaneuse, France. Notices to you are sent to the email address on your account.
