Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: October 2026
How to cancel each plan, how the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal works when digital content starts immediately, when a refund is available, and what happens to your files afterwards.
1. The short version
Cancel at any time, with no fee, from the subscription link in your Paddle receipt. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Because processing starts immediately, the pricing section and the checkout both state, before you pay, that paying is a request for immediate access and gives up the 14-day right of withdrawal once processing begins — if you have not processed anything yet, that right still stands. On top of that, every charge — a first payment or a renewal, on any plan — carries a goodwill 30-day money-back guarantee.
2. How to cancel
Every payment is taken by Paddle, and the receipt Paddle emails you carries a link to manage the subscription. Open that link and cancel there; the change is confirmed on screen and by email. This works the same way on every plan — Day Pass, Singer and Studio — and there is no phone call, retention interview or form to fill in.
If you cannot find that receipt, email contact@basicsinging.com from the address you paid with and we will cancel it for you.
3. When cancellation takes effect
- Day Pass — at the end of the current 24-hour period. You keep full access until that day ends, and you are not charged again.
- Singer — at the end of the current 28-day period. You keep full access until that period ends.
- Studio — at the end of the current 28-day period. You keep full access until that period ends.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not take away access you have already paid for.
4. No cancellation fee
There is no cancellation fee, exit fee or minimum term on any plan, ever. You pay for the period you are in, and nothing after it.
5. Your 14-day right of withdrawal
Under Article L. 221-18 of the French Consumer Code, a consumer who buys at a distance normally has 14 days to withdraw from the contract and receive a full refund, without giving a reason.
BasicSinging supplies digital content and access begins as soon as you subscribe. French law allows that immediate supply only if you expressly request it and acknowledge what it means. There is no sign-up form to tick: the request and the acknowledgement are made by paying, and this is what is stated beside the plans and in the checkout before any money is taken:
"I want access straight away and I understand this means I lose my 14-day right to cancel once processing begins."
Paying, with that statement in front of you, is the express request and the acknowledgement required by Article L. 221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code. The practical effect is simple. Once you have processed audio on the subscription, the right of withdrawal no longer applies to it. If you subscribed but have not yet processed any audio, the right still stands: email contact@basicsinging.com within 14 days of subscribing and the charge is refunded in full.
This section describes a statutory right. The goodwill guarantee in section 7 is separate and additional to it.
6. Day Pass refunds
The $2 Day Pass is covered by the same 30-day money-back guarantee as every other charge: ask within 30 days of the charge and it is refunded in full, whether or not you processed a track that day. Because the pass renews every 24 hours, cancelling is what stops the next one — a refund of today's charge does not cancel tomorrow's. Section 5 covers the statutory position.
7. 30-day money-back guarantee
As a goodwill measure well beyond your statutory rights, every charge comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Ask within 30 days of a charge and that charge is refunded in full — whatever you processed with it, and whether it was your first payment or a renewal.
Each charge stands on its own, so a renewal you did not mean to keep can be refunded even if the periods before it were used in full. There is no limit on how many separate charges this covers and no form to fill in: one email is enough. Refunds are returned by Paddle to the card or account you paid with, and normally arrive within a few working days.
8. Unused time on a 28-day plan
Once the 30 days after a charge have passed, refunds are not given for unused time on the period that charge paid for, and periods are not pro-rated. If you cancel on day 20 of a 28-day period, you keep access for the remaining 8 days and are not billed again.
The same applies when you switch plans: the change takes effect at the start of the next billing period, so no part-period refund arises.
9. Duplicate charges and technical failures
Verified duplicate charges are refunded in full. So is any charge for a period in which a technical failure on our side prevented you from using the service, or where processing repeatedly failed to return a usable output, once we have confirmed the fault in our logs.
This does not cover a result you simply did not like the sound of — automated processing has limits, and section 15 of the Terms of Service explains them — although we will always look at the file and try to help you get a better result.
10. How to request a refund
Email contact@basicsinging.com from the address you paid with, and give the date of the charge. Say briefly which plan it was and, if you are claiming the guarantee or the right of withdrawal, which one applies.
Payments are processed by Paddle, our authorised reseller and merchant of record, so an approved refund is issued through Paddle back to the original payment method and may appear on your statement under Paddle's name. We aim to reply within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days, and your bank or card issuer may take a few days more to show the credit.
11. Chargebacks
On your statement the charge reads PADDLE.NET* followed by our name, because Paddle is the Merchant of Record for every order — if that line looks unfamiliar, it is us.
If a charge looks wrong, contact us before opening a chargeback with your bank — it is almost always faster to resolve directly. When a chargeback is opened, the account may be suspended while the payment provider handles the case, and we will respond with the account, billing and usage records that apply to the charge.
Where a chargeback is raised in bad faith on a subscription that was actively used, we may decline to serve that account in future.
12. Your data after cancellation
After cancellation, your project history and any output still inside its 30-day window remain downloadable for 30 days. After that they are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
Download your finished tracks before you cancel. All uploaded audio and rendered output is deleted automatically 30 days after processing, whether or not the subscription is active, and we cannot reproduce a file once it is gone.
You can also delete any track or project yourself at any time from the dashboard. The Privacy Policy explains retention in more detail.
13. Legal guarantees and mediation
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content under Articles L. 224-25-12 and following of the French Consumer Code, and the guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 and following of the French Civil Code. Where the law gives you a stronger right than this policy does, that law applies.
If a complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may refer the dispute free of charge to a consumer mediator under Articles L. 611-1 and L. 612-1 of the French Consumer Code. Write to contact@basicsinging.com and we will give you the mediation scheme's details and how to file.
14. Contact and complaints
Cancellation and refund requests, and any complaint about a charge or about how a request was handled, go to the address below. We acknowledge every complaint within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 10 working days, telling you where it stands if it takes longer. If a complaint is not settled, section 13 explains the consumer mediation route. Paddle, as Merchant of Record, also handles billing enquiries and returns directly and can be reached from the receipt it emails you.
